Heaven and Earth, Global Warming, the Missing Science, by Ian Plimer
If you want to know the science behind climate read this. A long and dry read but worth fighting through.
Narrative of the Life of Fredrick Douglas, and American Slave, by Fredrick Douglas
A reminder of why the majority does not equal morality.
Communist Manifesto: by Karl Marx
A tough read, may help to have Cliff Notes when reading. Keep in mind, there are more countries that follow Marx writings while only one follows Jefferson, Adams and Franklin's writings.
First Break All the Rules: what the world's greatest managers do differently, by Marcus Buckingham, Curt Coffman
A different kind of management book and a must read, The best management book I have read.

Made my life a little easier & less stressful, my attitude much better, and life happier.
Fiction
Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand
A must read for everyone.
If you want to understand the "American Sense of Life" read one after another
the first three novels
in the following order. All three authors lived and penned about the same time, early to mid 1800's.
-
Crime and Punishment: Fyodor Dostoevsky
- Great Expectations: Charles Dickens
- Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Mark Twain
The Three Musketeers & The Count of Monte Cristo: Alexandre Dumas
To Kill a Mockingbird: Harper Lee
A true Classic
The Iliad &The Odyssey: Homer
The Complete Sherlock Holmes: Sir Author Conan Doyle
A collection of short stories. A great book to pick up read a few of the stories, put down to read something else and comeback to later.
The Jungle: Upton Sinclair
If you can read this and not need anti-depressants you will be the first. Sinclair, a socialist, ran for governor in California in the 1930"s and nearly won. I did not like this book - to depressing - but it did transform an industry.
The War of the Worlds, H.G. Wells
Spielberg did the book justice.
Gulliver's Travels: Jonathan Swift
Actually, satirical poking at the British Empire and Royalty
The Jungle Books: Rudyard Kipling
A really good, light read with many enjoyable metaphors
